Shrimp and lobster boats bob up and down nearby in the clear Caribbean.
At this point, you will board an authentic Cayuco boat, to cruise through tropical mangroves on a canal dug to connect the harbors and bays. Your Roatan horseback riding guide will lead you on a calm pace ride along scenic roads and through the green rainforest. Then, time allowing, enjoy a slow-paced ride on the beach along the water. Once back on Big Bight Beach, it's time to cool down by snorkeling out over the Meso-American Barrier Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world so you are in for quite a treat. The boat is docked right at the beach's pier and it is a fast ride out to the coral reefs. Your guide will provide the snorkel equipment including a life jacket (optional). Your snorkel excursion guide will point out areas of interest and it's not unusual to spot stingrays, porkfish, and king crabs along with the myriad of colorful tropical fish.
