Enjoy snorkeling at two of Cozumel's top stops - El Cielo Starfish Bay and Columbia Reef. Hop aboard the Aqua Dream Catamaran and enjoy snorkeling followed by a beach break at Playa Mia Grand Beach Club.

With a capacity of 60, pick a spot and relax during your ride to the snorkel sites. The catamaran crew will circulate on the deck to pass out cold beverages during the 1-hour sail. When you arrive at the famed Columbia coral reef, the shore excursion crew will pass out the snorkel gear and show you how to use it. They will then assist you into the water and lead you on a guided drift snorkel. This means that the gentle current will guide you over the reefs and you will not have to use your fins too much. There is a lot of beautiful marine life to see as you glide from one reef to the other. The time takes about 45 minutes to drift snorkel over Colombia Reef.

Then hop back on board the catamaran and head to the magical, El Cielo (in Spanish) or "heaven" in English about a 15-minute sail away. This special location is also known as Starfish Bay. This is a shallow white sandy bottom bay only accessible by boat. Starfish of many varieties are scattered along the bottom. Guests may use the snorkel gear to glide over the starfish or relax in the shallow water (on average the water is approximately 3 feet deep). Guests will have approximately 45 minutes to enjoy this special bay that not many guests ever get to see.

At the end of the snorkel part of this Playa Mia Catamaran Shore Excursion, you will be assisted back aboard the Aqua Dream catamaran boat. The excursion crew will have an open bar ready to refresh you! The captain will then set sail for Playa Mia Beach Club for your beach break. At Playa Mia, you will have about 1-hour to enjoy the lunch buffet and all the facilities at the beach club. There is a lot to choose from and do. You will also have an open bar!

At the end of your Cozumel catamaran excursions with a beach break, the staff will send you back to your pier via taxi. Guests may also have the option to stay at Playa Mia and return to the cruise ship at their leisure and at their own expense. Note the opening hours at Playa Mia Beach Club are 9:00 AM to 05:00 PM.

Entrees: Breaded fish fillet, fried tacos, chicken fajitas, shrimp fajitas, beef fajitas, chicken wings, chicken BBQ, burgers, fish steak.

Side Dishes: fried potatoes, french fries, mashed potatoes, Mexican rice, fried beans, house bread, corn tortillas, mac and cheese, catchup, mayo, and mustard.

Where we meet

The meeting point for the Cozumel El Cielo and Columbia Snorkel with Playa Mia Beach Club is a short walking distance from your cruise ship terminal in Cozumel. All necessary information will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• The minimum snorkeling age is 8 years old, maximum participation age is 70 years old.
• Children ages 6-9 years old may not snorkel.
• The minimum weight is 70lbs. Maximum weight is 250lbs (114Kg).
• Guests must be able to climb up a ladder to get back into the boat.
• This excursion is not wheelchair accessible.
• All participants must be proficient swimmers, in GOOD health, and self-sufficient.
• The use of a life vest during the snorkeling activity is mandatory with no exception.
• Participants must comply with all of the instructions given by the Vessel Captain and/or its crew.
• Under-aged participants must be accompanied, directly supervised, and cared for by the responsible Companion, Parent (s)-or Legal Guardian at all times.
• Alcoholic Beverages will be served AFTER the Snorkeling activity only.
• Playa Mia Beach Club requires, at its sole discretion, a valid photo ID as proof of age for alcoholic beverage consumption.
• Playa Mia Beach reserves the right to refuse service of Alcoholic beverages to guests that appear intoxicated, are unruly, or underage.
• This Cozumel Catamaran Marine Park Snorkel, Cielo Sandbar, and Playa Mia Beach Park Excursion may involve risks. We suggest you check with your elected person of choice to see if these possible risks might affect you.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
