Enjoy an adventurous day on your stop in St. Maarten by sightseeing in a Jeep with you behind the wheel. Then have some beach time to enjoy the beautiful waters surrounding the island of St. Maarten.

You'll meet your guide at your St. Maarten cruise ship terminal and be driven to the base camp (10-minute drive) for safety instructions before heading out in your Jeep. If you are planning to drive, please bring a valid driver's license. Please note the jeep is not private and you'll possibly share the vehicle. If you wish to have the vehicle to yourself, you will need to purchase all 4 seats. You can explore the hills and trails of both sides of the island with plenty of stops for photos and take in the sights. Get away from the crowds and experience the island off the beaten path. 

You'll see points of interest on both the Dutch and French sides of the island. On the Dutch side, at Cole Bay Hill lookout point you can enjoy panoramic views of its capital, Philipsburg, plus the neighboring islands of Saba, St. Eustatius, and Anguilla. Simpson Bay Lagoon is the largest inland body of water in the Caribbean and the border of the French and Dutch sides of the island run through the middle.

In the capital of the French side, Marigot, you'll have time to shop and explore its colorful markets and exclusive boutiques. You'll drive through Grand Case, known as the Gourmet Capital of the Caribbean, which is filled with restaurants, bars, cafes, and a beautiful beach.

The last stop is at Great Bay, where the white-sandy beach offers swimming, snorkeling, and surfing, plus food vendors all under swaying palm trees. You'll have a stop here (approximately 1 hour) to relax, take a break to swim, or just enjoy some beach time before heading back to your ship.

At the end of your beach stop, you'll be returned to your St. Maarten cruise terminal.

Note: Round-trip transportation is NOT included. It is pre-arranged and has an additional cost of $10.00USD per person round-trip to be paid on-site directly to the local operator.

Excursion Notes

• We suggest you bring sun protection, cash for the balance payment, any purchases, tips, etc.
• Guests may also choose to wear their swimsuits under their clothing and bring a towel for beach time.
• Round-trip transportation is NOT included. It has an additional cost of $10.00USD per person round-trip to be paid on-site directly to the local operator.
  
• Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if shore excursion requirements are not met.

Where we meet

For this St. Maarten Jeep Island Highlights and Beach Break Excursion, you will meet right outside your St. Maarten cruise terminal. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket

Excursion Restrictions

• The minimum age to drive is 21 years old and up. All drivers must present a valid driver's license.
• The minimum age to participate is 6 years old.
• There is a maximum of 4 passengers per Jeep.
• The Jeeps are shared. If you want the vehicle to yourself, all 4 spaces need to be purchased.
• All guests must sign a waiver before participation.
• This excursion may be bumpy and dusty in parts and not allowed for guests with limited mobility, pregnant women, or guests with heart or back problems.
• This St. Maarten Jeep Island Highlights and Beach Break Excursion may involve risks. We suggest you check with your elected person of choice to see if these possible risks might affect you.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
• Your ship misses/skips the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
  
• Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
