Whether you are looking for an adventure before or after your cruise, or simply in town exploring, the New Orleans Steamboat Natchez Harbor Cruise with Creole Lunch is a great way to combine two New Orleans classics into one amazing afternoon. Experience first-hand its tantalizing cuisine as you roll down the Mississippi River on the fastest steamboat of all time.
You will meet directly at the Steamboat pier where your crew will be waiting. Since this is a real steamboat, you'll hear the beautiful music of its calliope (a musical instrument powered by steam that is atop the steamboat) as you stroll through the French Quarter leading you to the boat. Make sure you get there early enough to hear the fifteen-minute concert in its entirety.
The Natchez is the ninth steamer to bear the name and is proudly the undisputed champion of the Mississippi, never having been beaten in a race. In a line that follows the course of river history, from the plantation era through the Civil War, and the Gay Nineties into the new millennium, the Natchez combines the best of contemporary construction, safety, and comfort standards with all the authenticity and style of her classic steamboat gothic predecessors. As you glide down the Mississippi River on a piece of history, you will be treated to live narration highlighting the rich history of the river and port as you enjoy an authentic Creole lunch on New Orleans' one and only authentic Steamboat.
The menu includes Vegetarian Pasta Salad, Red Beans with Smoked Sausage over Rice, Southern Fried Fish, Creole Chicken, and Sausage Jambalaya, Bread Pudding with Steamboat Sauce, French Bread and Butter, Coffee, and Iced Tea.
The steamboat will cruise back to the dock where you started. You can then explore on your own and return to your hotel or cruise ship at your leisure and own expense.
Take a trip back in history as you enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of the Mississippi on this one-of-a-kind river adventure!
