You will meet your Monte Carlo shore excursion driver/guide right outside your Monaco cruise terminal building. This is a small group sightseeing cruise shore excursion with a maximum of only 8 participants. You will depart Monte Carlo, following the motorway to reach the Medieval hilltop town of Eze, approximately 30 minutes away. The views are great with a panoramic overlook of the Mediterranean. You will have approximately 30 minutes to browse the town, wander the shops at the base, or for the energetic, climb up into the medieval town for the most spectacular views and photo ops including Cap Ferrat.
You will then meet up for a short visit made at the nearby Fragonard perfume, soap, and cosmetics factory. The company began making perfumes in 1926, in the nearby town of Grasse, and now the family business is under the eye of the third generation. There will be a short guided visit and the excursion staff on hand will explain how to choose a fragrance that is right for you. Browse, shop or just enjoy the scents.
Your Monte Carlo excursion route will take you to the hillside village of La Turbie. You will stop for a photo overlooking the town and the ruins of the 6th century BC, Trophy of the Alps (Tropaeum Alpium), erected by Roman Emperor Augustus to celebrate a victory. Many former pieces of the Trophy are now part of the homes and buildings that surround it.
The real jewel of the French Riviera lies up and over the hill - the principality of Monaco and the glitzy Monte Carlo. Your first stop here will be the Rock with an overlook of the city. You then have an exterior visit of the Royal Prince Palace. You might get to see the changing of the guard that takes place at 11:55 AM daily. The Cathedral is a short walk away where those wishing can see the final resting place of both Prince Rainier and his Princess Grace.
Your Monte Carlo Best of Eze and La Turbie Excursion transportation will then take you for a quick drive over to Casino Square. You will have the opportunity for a quick photo of the exterior of the casino with the endless lineup of exotic and luxury cars lined up in front, the Hotel de Paris, and the Cafe de Paris.
To wrap up your quick half-day visit to Eze, La Turbie, and Monte Carlo, your shore excursion driver will follow a portion of the Monte Carlo Grand Prix circuit before returning to your Monte Carlo Monaco cruise ship pier just beyond the Rock.
