This day trip includes round trip, comfortable transportation with pickup right at your hotel or resort. Sit back and relax in the air conditioning for the 4-hour drive down. Be prepared to see some great tropical sights as you cross over 42 bridges, check out the boats and the colorful houses, and all from the comfort of your seat. The bridge itself is a famous backdrop for several movies including 2 Fast 2 Furious. Key West is the southernmost point of Florida and has a lot of colorful history.
When you arrive in Key West, you will see the ambiance that cultivates the island. Part of your package includes a day-long pass for the Trolley Ride, it's Key West's version of a double-decker bus. We also have 3 other versions of the Key West Day Trip, please see below.
The trolley offers guests a safe and easy way to get around the island. There will be many stops along the route where you can hop off, explore, and then just hop back on the next trolley when it comes around. Hear about pirates, Indians, and the Civil War and how it affected the island. Check out the Hemingway Home, where the author wrote some of his best works, and see some of the resident 6-toed cats. See the famous Mallory Square where the locals gather to eat and shop. This is also where they come to watch the sunset, a Key West tradition. Your conductor will be sure to point out the famous Hog's Breath Saloon or Sloppy Joe's where you can hop off and get to know a few of the locals.
Want to do some shopping? Then hop off at any of the shopping areas you pass by. Love museums? Then hop off at the Key West Shipwreck Treasure Museum and see what's been found down below. You'll pass through Bahama Village, again you can hop off to explore this eclectic area, or stay on and listen to the stories of how this area was once called The Island of Bones by the Calusa Indians. Listen to the tales of Henry Flagler's railroad that took decades to build. Whether you just ride along or hop off all the time, you're going to have fun.
Want to enjoy the beach? Just hop off at the ocean side, and hop back on when you are finished. Maybe soak up the energy in Mallory Square and do some people-watching, which is always fun to do in Key West. Don't forget to try a piece of their famous key lime pie, it's delicious. Please note that entrance fees to the attractions are not included.
