The day starts after you meet your private guide at your Kotor cruise pier to begin with your personalized experience. Climb into your private, air-conditioned transportation and drive enjoy the 20-minute scenic drive to Perast. Situated at the foot of St. Elijah Hill, this town has a magnificent past. Your guide will lead you on a brief overview of this Venetian Gothic town and then you will have approximately 1 hour to explore on your own.
While there, you might decide to take a short boat trip to one of the iconic highlights, the man-made island of Our Lady of the Rocks. It took the town folks over 200 years to drag rocks to build the island and another 300 to build the church on it. The church became a holy place for sailors who vowed to donate treasures if they came back safely. Nowadays, you can see over 2,000 silver tokens displayed in the church. The museum has a large collection of over 70 seascapes and sailing ships as well as a unique piece of embroidery by Jacinta Kunic. The boat trip is not included and it has a cost of 4-5 Euros per person. Or maybe you want to stroll around the town and take in some of the amazing architecture. One building that dominates the central square is St. Nicholas Church, which has a 180 ft (55-meter) tall bell tower. If you wish to enter the church and/or museum on Our Lady of the Rocks, you get to skip the line...no waiting involved!
