Get away from the usual cruiseline-sponsored excursions on this unique guided highlights excursion. Group size is kept to a maximum of 30 to ensure personalized service.

You will take a brief shuttle ride (free) from your cruise pier to meet your driver and air-conditioned transport. From the pier, it is a 2-hour journey to Florence. A restroom stop will be made after an hour en route. The driver will give commentary while you are in the vehicle.

On arrival to the city's historic area, you will disembark for a guided walking visit. See the Gothic architecture of Piazza del Duomo with its Cupola, a powerful symbol for both the city and its tradition. There is also an exterior visit to the Baptistery by the Duomo.

Head next to the Piazza della Signoria, known as Florence's political heart, and see the Palazzo della Signoria. This monument was designed in 1298 for the seat of the Republican government.

From the Piazza della Signoria, you will continue to the oldest bridge in Florence, Ponte Vecchio. Although reconstructed after the flooding of 1333, the bridge still offers great architectural views and interesting photo opportunities.

There is a 45-minute lunch break where you may choose where to dine. Your guide will be able to offer suggestions. Lunch is at the guest's expense.

Regroup after your lunch break for a short visit to the Square of Santa Croce, one of the city's largest squares used for popular typical celebrations. There you will see the outside of the Basilica of Santa Croce, one of Florence's largest churches as well as the resting place of some of Italy's influential famous such as Gioacchino Rossini, Galileo Galilei, and the artist, Michelangelo.

Head back to your transportation and journey to Pisa. On arrival at the city, you will disembark and walk approximately 20 minutes to the Field of Miracles. Enjoy photo opportunities and some free time before returning to your cruise pier, approximately 30 minutes from Pisa.

Please note that you should anticipate large crowds at all sites. For groups with less than nine people, transportation will be by smaller vehicles. For groups of more than nine people, you will meet your additional official guide on arrival to Florence.

Excursion Notes

• Excursion prices shown are quoted in US dollars.
  
• As you may be visiting a religious or memorial site, shoulders and knees must be covered on men and women.
  
• We suggest you have cash (Euros) on hand for refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
• Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are highly recommended along with sun protection.
  
• Please be aware that due to security measures, the Port of Livorno may delay excursion vehicles from entering the pier area all at once, or may space ships out at 5 different piers which are a distance from each other. Quite often, these changes are done ton he morning of the excursion and are not announced until they happen. We will do everything we can to work around this but please understand we have no control over the port authority and we appreciate your understanding and patience. All sites mentioned on the excursion will be seen and if the port authority causes any delays, (and time allows), any lost time at the beginning of the excursion will be included at the end of the excursion.
  
• Groups of less than 8 only have drivers who will give commentary.
• Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if the requirements are not met.
  
• This excursion is only available with an English guide.

Where we meet

For this Livorno Best of Florence and Pisa Excursion, you will meet your local excursion staff at the Livorno Cruise Port's Transportation Hub, located near the main entrance to the port. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket. Please allow enough time to catch the port shuttle to the transportation hub for your departure.

Excursion Restrictions

• This Livorno Best of Florence and Pisa Sightseeing Excursion is not wheelchair accessible.
• Guests must be able to step in and out of the transportation.
• Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel, and cobblestone surfaces, some on inclines.
• There are steps required to enter several of the sites as well as steep curbs in some areas.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
