Come try your fishing skills in the Marlin Capital of the World...Cabo San Lucas. Just like the pros, you can try your luck in landing some of the world-class game fish including marlin (Black, Blue, and Striped), Wahoo, Tuna, Dorado Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Rooster, and much more.
Fishing is great year-round. All you need to decide is what size boat and how long you want to fish for. This is your private boat charter for the day so you can choose to fish alone or bring others along to share in the fun and adventure. Our 38ft Chris Craft holds up to 10, the 34ft Stamas holds up to 8, and the 26ft Bertram holds up to 3 passengers.
You will meet the fleet owner at the pier which is just a short walk or taxi ride around the marina sidewalk. He will show you where you can buy your fishing license, introduce you to the English-speaking local pro fishing captain and mate and get you going.
Each boat has a cabin, fighting chairs, a shaded area, a relaxation area inside, and sunning areas too. Trolling-style fishing is used in Los Cabos so the mate will be casting out the lines almost immediately. The boat will be in constant motion. The captain will head out through the marina to the hot fishing spots that day.
When you arrive at the fishing spots, the boat will pass through the waters in hopes of finding hungry fish. Although catching is never guaranteed, the captain and mate take this very seriously and will try their best to find the big fish for you.
When there is a fish strike, the mate will set the hook and then pass the rod to you. It is possible to have more than one fish on at a time. The mate will assist you through the entire process if you wish.
You do have options for the fish you catch...only sailfish are mandatory catch and release. There are limits on marlin and all other species that the captain will tell you. There are several restaurants that will cook your catch for a flat fee, you can release the fish, you can give it to the captain and sailor and you can have it trophy mounted and then shipped home. Note - we suggest you check with your cruise line on their policy to bring fish on board.
There is a restroom inside each of the boats regardless of which boat of ours you choose. A cooler is provided with ice. You may choose to bring your own food and beverages or they can be purchased when getting your licenses - boxed lunch, beer, bottled water, and soft drinks. Note that all passengers on the boat ages 12 and above must have a license even if not planning to fish. Live bait is also available to purchase.
Note that fish finders are not used in Los Cabos waters. Also, since live bait is normally just used for schools of Dorado, you will not see the sailor switching it out often although he will be trying different lures to see which looks the most appetizing to the fish that day!
A half-day trip is 4 hours and a full day is 8 hours...see the price list for all options available. There is an extra charge for trophy mounted - rates can be given to you when the boat pulls back into the dock after your excursion.
